“Getting the Love You Want” is an educational and experiential workshop for couples at all points in relationship. Developed by Drs. Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt, Founders of Imago Relationship Therapy, the workshop consists of mini lessons, guided demonstrations, reflective writing exercises, guided imagery, and communication skills practice.

Couples attending this workshop will:
  • Understand the growth opportunities embedded in conflict patterns
  • Learn how partner selection profiles allow healing from difficult life experiences
  • Develop skills in using the Intentional Dialogue tool for constructive communication
  • Learn varied modes of interacting to restore connection and invigorate attraction
  • Create and begin manifesting your relationship vision

Dr. Terracciano presents this workshop with his husband, Dr. Mohan Vinjamuri. As an assistant to the workshop, Mohan brings over 25 years of experience as an educator. Stephen and Mohan embrace the Imago method, and are eager to teach this approach to couples.

Mindfulness-based Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy group for Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Facilitated by Dr. Stephen Terracciano, this BDD group for adults begins March 18th, and meets every other Monday from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. It is designed for those with some prior experience and initial progress using CBT for BDD.

An initial consultation or attendance at an orientation meeting is required to determine suitability. Please complete our contact form to register and we will be in touch.

The group can be helpful for people:
  • who have had prior success with CBT for BDD, and who want to preserve gains
  • who want to overcome roadblocks to their BDD recovery, to achieve specific life goals
  • to encourage continued use of core CBT skills for BDD
  • to develop mindfulness-awareness skills to redirect excessive self-focus on appearance outward, to become more engaged with others and the present moment
  • to develop the mindful qualities of curiosity, nonjudgment, acceptance, and compassion as positive forces for change, dropping ineffective critical habits
  • to utilize the power of the group process to learn from and support others
Individuals attending this group will receive:
  • Customized treatment plans to meet individual goals
  • Guided instruction in mindfulness-awareness exercises 
  • Skills review & in-session practice of evidence-based CBT techniques for BDD
  • Review of members' weekly life practice activities
  • Facilitated engagement among group members aimed to improve interpersonal effectiveness, reduce appearance-shame and enhance self-acceptance.

Dr. Terracciano has been treating Body Dysmorphic Disorder with cognitive and behavioral therapy since 2003. He received specialized education and training in 2006, at the 2nd annual Body Dysmorphic Disorder Conference. Here, Stephen received instruction from pioneering and leading BDD research-practitioners, including Sabine Wilhelm, PhD, Katherine Phillips, MD, Fugen Neziroglu, PhD, and Jamie Feusner, MD. Stephen stays current with the most recent BDD treatment advances by attending professional conferences and reading the latest scientific peer-reviewed journal articles.
